Volkman Photography Recieves Equally Wed’s LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Certification!

In recent years it has become abundantly clear to us that it is vital that we, as humans and small business owners, fight for what is important to us. While we typically avoid topics that may be perceived as controversial, we recently concluded that it is far more important to us that we are supportive of all types of love and all people, both personally, and as a business entity. The idea that futureweds may feel anything less than welcome in the amazing communities we serve is disheartening to say the least.

While it may seem obvious to most of us that love is love no matter what our gender roles are, the LGBTQ+ community still endures hardship and discrimination in many facets of life, including in wedding planning. That is why we at Volkman Photography sought out a way for us to ensure all of our current and future clients are able to experience all of the joy that comes with planning, preparing for, and experiencing the pure awesomeness that accompanies weddings!

As the Supreme Court of the United States articulated: “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were…. marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death.“

Because of this, we decided we needed to ensure we fully understood the unique needs and challenges that our LGBTQ+ community may face when planning a wedding. We sought out specific education and training that allowed us to grow, both as people, and a business, and ensure we continue to be a welcoming entity four ALL of our clients. After extensive training, our studio received Equally Wed’s LGBTQ+ Inclusive Certification in 2021! We are thrilled to be able to show our support for all of our current and future clients!
